Neon Drift Rally
Neon Drift Rally isn't a simulation and doesn't pretend to be. It's about holding a long, screaming drift around a neon corner and chaining it into the next one for a speed boost. The handling model is forgiving in the best way — you feel in control even when the car is clearly sideways.
You steer by tilting or with on-screen buttons, and the button layout is the better option on a phone. Tracks are short, around ninety seconds each, which makes the whole thing ideal for one quick race while you wait for a kettle to boil. There's a decent sense of progression as you unlock faster cars.
It's not a deep game, and the track variety thins out after a while. But as a pure dopamine hit between other things, Neon Drift Rally delivers. The soundtrack is also, unexpectedly, excellent.
What we liked
- Forgiving but satisfying drift handling
- Short tracks made for quick sessions
- Genuinely good synthwave soundtrack
